It’s soup season and I’m sharing four of my favorite soups for colder weather, plus tips for meal prepping soup.

Today we are making:

00:41 – How to Freeze Soups in Jars- wide mouth jars are best to use, but I’ve used tapered jars with no issues. Make sure you do not repurpose pasta jars or use anything other than canning jars. Make sure the soup is fully cooled, fill to 3/4 full, and freeze with lids off or ajar until frozen solid.

Teresa Finnerty says:

the silicone muffin cups work great to freeze soup, once they are frozen you pop them right out and vaccum seal them/

Recipe;
Chicken stock that was left from my whole chicken I cooked, then beef stock cube and a chicken cube in a pint of hot water add that to it with the pieces of chicken left over from my whole chicken. Some sweetcorn, Chopped a carrot as small chunks as poss, same with peppers and 1 onion. Half tablespoon chilli flakes, half tablespoon onion powder, half tablespoon garlic powder, half tablespoon mixed herbs. Half tablespoon pepper. Then snapped some spaghetti into it.

I made a chicken noodle soup today.

Vicki G Solomon says:

I think the pureed soups would be good not pureed too. Worchestershire sauce is also called "English sauce" because it's English fish sauce. Although the cheap brands leave out the anchovies.
The soup I make the most often is "clean out the fridge vegetable soup."
My other soup is potato soup. (Potatoes, onion, water, S&P, milk, parsley). But I add things. Corn for corn chowder. Broccoli. Spring vegetables.
One time I added dinosaur kale to potato soup, and the kale turned an ugly color. So I pureed it, and the soup turned a beautiful Kelly green! We couldn't taste the kale, so my family was mystified about how I got it that color.

Awesome recipes. Tgey all sound delicious & super easy. I have all the ingredients for both the broccoli and cauliflower soups. Now I just need to buy some containers. Can you freeze soups that have rice in them?
