Here is what you’ll need!

Apple Pie From Scratch

Pie Dough
2½ cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1½ sticks butter, cold and cut in cubes
4-8 tablespoons ice water

2½ pounds Granny Smith apples, cored and sliced
¾ cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
½ lemon
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon sugar
Vanilla ice cream

Preheat the oven to 375°F/200°C.
In a medium-sized bowl, add the flour and salt. Mix with fork until combined.
Add in cubed butter and break up into flour with a fork. Mixture will still have lumps about the size of small peas.
Gradually add in ice water and continue to mix until the dough starts to come together. You may not need all of the water, but if the dough is too dry then add more. The dough should not be very tacky or sticky.
Work the dough together with your hands and turn out onto a surface. Work into a ball and cover with cling wrap. Refrigerate.
In a bowl, add the sliced apples, sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon.
Mix until combined and all apples are coated. Refrigerate.
On a floured surface, cut the pie dough in half and roll out both halves until round and about ⅛-inch thick.
Roll the dough around the rolling pin and unroll onto a pie dish making sure the dough reaches all edges. Trim extra if necessary.
Pour in apple filling mixture and pat down.
Roll the other half of the dough on top.
Trim the extra dough from the edges and pinch the edges to create a crimp. Make sure edges are sealed together.
Brush the pie with the beaten egg and sprinkle with the sigar.
Cut four slits in the top of the pie to create a vent.
Bake pie for 50-60 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and no greyish or undercooked pastry remains.
Allow to cool completely before slicing.
Top with ice cream and enjoy!

Fluffle Puff says:

I tried this and it came out great! Just a few tips:
1. The pie definitely needs to cool after baking. I refrigerated it overnight, but I'm sure it'd be fine after just a few hours too.
2. If you don't love sourness, mix in some red apples with the Granny Smith, and maybe decrease the amount of lemon.
3. After you season the apples, add ~1 tbsp cornstarch and put them in the fridge. After 30 mins, take them out and drain all the liquid into a small pot/pan. Heat the liquid, and add in ~1/4 stick of butter or margerine and a cornstarch slurry (~1.5 tbsp cornstarch, 3 tbsp water). The mixture will thicken, after which you should take it off the heat and pour it back over the apples. It's a short and easy process, but it makes a huge difference.
4. You can replace all the butter in the recipe with margerine if you'd prefer, and the pie will come out great anyway.

what size pan was used for this

Reach Honduras says:

Tip: You should always cook your apples just a little before filling the pie with them. Just cook them for about ten minutes in a pan on the stove top with the spices. They release a little moisture, become more tender, and add tons of flavor to the sauce. If you don't cook the apples first, the raw apples will cook down when baking and create a gap between the top crust and the filling, making the pie less sturdy and causing a doughy, runny top between the layers of filling and pie crust on top.

If your vegan use earth balance butter, and almond milk instead of egg wash.
Also if your apples are already tarte don't add lemon juice the lemon juice is to add some tartness.

Toby dog says:

To (all my 100% loyal family) (whoever they are)

So today, i was thinking about how well, i guess.

Just my life as a whole……….

I was wondering……….

"What is it really like to be happy?" to be like "normal people"? (and ofc im normal, just that im a 4 but you get the idea)

Because ever since i was born i felt alone, and i never felt like i belonged anywhere, and i didn't feel like couldn't relate to anyone or thing.

And the thing is, "i dont know what WILL make me happy" And "I dont know what is the definition of being happy".
I'd imagine, life must be pretty great and carefree for people who are not 4's right? ( but ofc im unique even amongst 4's and im THE best 4 there is, and i been over all of this before)

And it's like, say in a hypothetical scenario where .

"If i never met anyone online, and i eventually meet a girl and get married and life a happy life"

I would probably just "eventually get bored of the marriage" and then after that "life as a whole" (well obviously im not going to keep on living and find other stuff to do, but you get the idea)
I mean
"what else is there to do there? Just live together for the rest of our lives and die?" ( you get the idea)

But the idea im getting at here is that. (well like i said before"

"I dont know what will make me happy"
(not just temporarily just say like perhaps a "stress free life" would be enough for me, and for that i need to like idk get into a rich family so i wont have to work ever or something like that )
(and no, i dont care if the girl fucks other guys, all i want is to live my life without any stress and to not work for the rest of my life and be able to do the things i love everyday.
Such as "writting my book" and other hobbies. Because after all if you think about it "That's really all life is about really…….." Nothing more than "doing the stuff that you enjoy". And that is why i need to get in a rich family so that i don't have to work for the rest of my life)

But besides that though.
The thing is.
I dont think "i like people in general" anyways I always been by myself(and yes i did social and spent pretty much 95% of my time outside during my child and early-mid teenage years and stuff of that sorts and i been over all of this before) and i enjoy being alone, but the thing is at the same time i actually do like people.
Just that I guess "I just want the feeling of them being there to support me"

Well…….. i guess it's like…

"I can't really think of any scenario where i'd truly be satisfied/happy with my life"
Unless idk like
"Get into like a multimillionaire/billionaire's family and then have them give me a high-tech place in like a secluded place in nature in the mountains of like CA/San Francisco maybe, away from society and then i'd invite people to come in to game, watch movies, and and etc……… with me occasionally."
(physically attractive people)

I dont know though…….. how likely is that actually……..
( prob pretty likely if we're talking about "ultra rich chinese families" idk well ESFP girls that are in them) (well because white families tent to not be that used to other people who are not white)
(and ofc that's definitely possible since
(In terms of looks (face) im the best there is was and ever will be (real life) and i been over all of this before.

Anyhow……………….but uhmm……

Oh and
I never approach girls in real life (and no it's not just girls, i pretty much just don't approach anyone period). The only times where i approach people is when i need something from them, something that i absolutely need to sustain my health and well being.

And i dont really know "how to get out of this loop/habit". I dont know there is a lot of mixed feelings on this part, but i think i might have a lisp too……… I guess only a little. And that's why whenever i talk out loud, "I dont talk out loud that freely"
But it should be almost done though. The invisalign is working.
(but for the most part i think my speech is pretty normal, since i tested it out before)

And actually, that should be all for tonight.
I might/maybe go work on some more of my book on microsoft word (im going to get the new book software app for mac when i get my macbook pro 16)

Oh and one last thing.
When i said that i dont like people I obviously dont mean my 100% loyal family.
They are all my 100% loyal family and i love them ofc.

To (all my 100% loyal family) (whoever they are)

Thanks for reading!

No sir. Apples need to be precooked.

Wonderland says:

Is there any way that you could put the measurements in the description also in ml and grams etc.? I know that there are converters but they give out “weird” measurements like 177ml for example :)

katherine ayers says:

You ought to have cut out the centers a bit better. Hate crunching down on those kind of hard to eat pieces left in apple pies. Mom was always careful about her apple pies from scratch.

Derrick Jerome Weaver Jr. says:

Why do I torture myself like this. Seeing the flaky crust and the juicy apples being cut making my mouth water. I see it but I can't have it. 😥😥😥
