That idea works great. I been using a aluminum pan. I put my onions and beer in one then I put my brats in. I do my peppers and some more onions in another pan with butter and garlic. When the brats and onions are cooked I through the brats on the grill for some searing. Just another idea.

Being a German guy, I gotta say you are doing this exactly backwards. The Brats go into the beer (straight beer no veggies) and simmer for at least 20 minutes. THEN they go on the grill to brown. The skin should have "snap" when you bite it. The onions (no peppers) are sauteed and put on the brat afterwards and if you add anything other than that, it's sauerkraut and / or mustard. Love your vids though…
