Can I make this with a sandwich maker? I know this sounds weird but I don’t have a waffle iron

Catherine McCord says:

Yum! The best part is that you can make almost any sandwich in the waffle iron!

xoxoBrooke2122 says:

Turned out great! My little brother does not like peanut butter so made it with just jelly, I also made a grilled cheese sandwich in the waffle maker :)

Thanks for your comment and support!

Great idea! You should check out all the crunchy recipes on weelicious like homemade potato and kale chips. Easy to make, healthy and crunchy!

SuelaBell says:

Uh did you SEE her put a STICK of butter?? No you DIDN’t
& anything she makes on here is healthy. I’m sure that peanut butter and jelly preserves are like from Whole Foods or something. Even if not~~~ its a better option than some other things we can eat. Make it how you want. It’s her video. Why don’t you make a video & title it whatever YOU want.

aquia80 says:

You have so many great ideas! My 3 year old is a texture fanatic and she’s going through a crunchy stage. If its not crunchy, she won’t touch it. Its been very challenging finding foods that aren’t mashed up but not too hard that she will choke on it. If you can do any videos on foods like that or have any suggestions, it would be greatly, greatly appreciated. What an easy way to spice up a regular sandwich. The texture is PERFECT! Thank you!

Catherine McCord says:

I would love to hear what you think after you make it!

xoxoBrooke2122 says:

Omg I love this idea! Going to try this tomorrow for lunch :)

Catherine McCord says:

A panini press works really great too!

JrdnLeigh says:

we’ve been making these in a pan for years!! they have always been my fave but ,…. i am so going to have to try the waffle iron!!!! sucha great idea!!!

Catherine McCord says:

I totally hear you. Thank you for your comment! I was kidding about the stick of butter 😉

flipprincess14 says:

Why would you make a stick of butter and jelly sandwich? its kinda like saying a cup of olive oil is healthier than a tub of lard. Obviously it is, but the point is the amount of the food is whats making it unhealthy. The title of “heathy” on the video is a bit misleading in my opinion. Yeah that sandwich probably tastes AMAZING, but the amount of peanut butter and jelly in that ONE sandwich is not “healthy”. The issue is the title. Not what is being made.

Catherine McCord says:

It also makes the bread so crispy and crunchy!

CanLeb88 says:

I just loved the pretty design on the sandwich! It makes it that much more appetizing!

Catherine McCord says:

It’s “healthier” then a stick of butter and a good amount of protein. You can always use less if you prefer :)

Catherine McCord says:

You have to make it- with loads of PB&J!

Catherine McCord says:

That’s me half the time!

Catherine McCord says:

Hilarious, I feel the same way!

Catherine McCord says:

SO glad you like the sandwich. It’s crazy good!

Jeremy Benadon says:

Amazing….and I didn’t even burn myself this time! Two points for me!

wonofakind1 says:

Cut the sandwich in half and it’s perfectly healthy for kids.

flipprincess14 says:

Ummm….yeah, that much peanut butter is NOT “healthy”
