▪️ Ingredients & Quantity
Big White Pomfret (Cleaned) – 1
▪️ For Marination
Salt – 1/4 tsp
lemon juice – 1 tsp
Red chill powder – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
▪️For Green Masala
Handful of Coriander leaves
Ginger 1/2 inch
Garlic 10 cloves
Green chillies 4 no’s
Tamarind 1 lemon sized ball
Cinnamon stick 1/2 inch
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Black pepper corns 10
Sugar 1 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Grated Coconut 1/4 cup
Coconut oil 3 tbsp
▪️For Coating the fish
Refined flour 1/4 cup
Salt 1/4 tsp
Black pepper powder 1/4 tsp
*Start by cutting the tail and find using a sharp scissor. scarp the scales with knife. Cut the mouth and clean the guts retaining half of the fish.
*Wash the fish thoroughly 3 times and drain the water.
*Slit the Pomfret on either side of the bone resembling pockets.
*Marinate the fish with salt, lemon juice, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and set aside for 20 mins.
* Fry sliced onions till golden brown in color , cool it.
* Grind all the ingredients mentioned for the green masala into fine paste using water. make sure the masala is not too thin. transfer it into a bowl.
* Stuff the marinated pomfret with the ground green masala approx 3 tsp each side depending on the size of the fish.
*Season refined flour with salt and Black pepper powder, mix well.
* Coat the fish with the seasoned flour on both the side.
* Heat coconut oil in a pan and shallow fry the fish for 10 mins each side till light brown in color.
*Serve hot with fish curry and rice.
