Beef Mechado is on the Filipino version of Beef Stew. Serve with steamed rice.

Ingredients :

1 /12 kilos of Beef Chunks
1/2 cup of soy sauce
juice of half lemon
Freshly ground black pepper
3 tbsp cooking oil
3 potatoes cut in quarters
1 carrot cut diagonally
3 bay leaves
1 medium size onion diced
2-3 cloves of garlic minced
2 tomatoes diced
1 tablespoon fish sauce (optional)
1 cup tomato sauce
3 tablespoon tomato paste
3 cups beef broth
1 red belle pepper cut
Salt and Pepper to Taste

That's is my old time favourite mechado! I remember we use to eat that when I was in college, but of course that one is the short cut and cheaper version of what mechado should be, I like your version it's so yummy the way it appears, sauce palang ulam na sigurado mapapa extra rice ka ng wala sa oras. Thanks for this so delicious ulam, it reminds me of the past.
